Are these REAL Boot Camps?
Boot Camp is kind of a loose term these days used pretty freely among fitness professionals. Unless you have been through a hard-core military training camp you probably wouldn't know the difference anyway. Our Boot Camp workouts are all designed and overseen by Philip Bruley who is a former US Army Airborne Ranger and US Army Master Fitness Trainer who also happens to hold over two dozen fitness and coaching certifications. Workouts are modified after the Boot Camp concept used by the military combined with cutting-edge fitness science.
Is this an "in your face" Boot Camp?
Hey if you want to be called deragatory names while you work out then join the military and go to Basic Training. Yes, you will be pushed. Yes, you will of course be challenged. But you will also be encourage and supported by both other Boot Campers and of course our staff.
Are these "women-only' Boot Camps?
Nope. Although over 85% of our members are women our Boot Camps are co-ed. We do offer a women's-only Kickboxing Fitness Boot Camp in the evening.
Where are your Boot Camps held? Indoors? Outdoors?
We currenlty hold our Boot Camps indoors at our 1800 square foot training facility on Hwy 707 in the St. James Plaza. We've got air conditioning, water coolers and bathrooms available for your convenience. We do regularly step outside for sprint work and in early 2009 most of our Boot Camps will be outside.
Okay... how much? Aren't Boot Camps expensive?
$50 for the entire month - or about $4 per class. Compare that to $30, $50 or even more for personal training sessions and you'll see what a great choice our Boot Camp classes are if you are SERIOUS about getting fit.
For those who ust want to drop-in and do a class from time to time we have a $10 drop-in rate for all classes as long as there is space available.
What times and how long are your Boot Camps?
We run everything by the calendar month. Boot Camps are 3 days per week (trust us... it's all you need!) and are about 45-50 minutes each. We have several time slots available each day so you can choose to train either in the AM or the PM.
My schedule varies... what if I miss a class?
No problem. When you train with us you can come to any class you would like. It is true most people stick to one time slot but we have several people who rotate in and out of times slots.
What equipment do you use?
Our Body Transformation workouts are varied and fun. We employ a lot of great functional training equipment to include kettlebells, free weights, BOSU's, power bands, stability balls, Lebert Equalizers, medicine balls, jump ropes and more. We like to think of our classes as 'recess for adults' so we bring out a lot of toys.
I haven't worked out in years... are Boot Camps for advanced people?
Our Body Transformation Boot Camp sessions are just like small group Personal Training sessions. All workouts are scaled to your ability and are self-paced. Over 50% of our new clients come to us having not worked out in many years. We also modify any exercises as necessary for your personal ability levels.
What kind of results can I expect?
Our clients regularly lose 3-5% bodyfat in the first month as well as dropping a lot of inches. We have this well documented and track measurements for those who want us to. You'll also get fit. Really fit. You will move better, become stronger and more toned without bulking up. You'll gain a new confidence in your abilities. And you'll have fun working out. Sure you'll complain but you will LOVE it!
WARNING! Here's what to REALLY expect!
Okay, we've been in this game long enough to know how things generally progress. Here is what will REALLY happen.
- You get excited that there is finally an affordable and effective way to get really fit without joining a gym and you sign up for a Boot Camp.
- You show up and sit in the parking lot a bit hesitant to come in. This is the hardest part for most people... getting through the door the first time!
- You go in, not knowing what to expect and whether or not you can survive the workout. It's tough but you make it through okay and you are pretty happy as you leave... looking forward to coming back.
- Dang! The soreness sets in and you are silently cursing us. You learn in a hurry how to do what we all the "shuffle" and how to "hover" over a chair. Congratulations! This is a rite of passage amongst most Boot Campers and a part of the camaraderie.
- Okay, now the hardest thing to do is come back in and work through that bit of soreness. But you do - sharing your story and misery with others and getting re-assurance from them that you are on your way.
- You start to really enjoy your workouts and LOVE the group dynamic. You feel as if you are letting "the team" down if you don't show up.
- After a couple of weeks you get discouraged becausen the scale isn't going down. You feel better, you look better... if only the scale would go down!
- You get your measurements re-tested and find you have lost some fat and inches. Cool. Hang on... the scale goes down soon thereafter!
- You finish up your first month and are now a Beach Bodz Veteran. You start to encourage and help the new people starting out.
- You're hooked. You continue to come and of course invite your friends to join our group. We thank you for that!
Do you track measurements?
Yes. We do keep body fat %, inches and body composition on file for those people who want to keep track of their progress. You can get yours re-tested anytime you want by one of the members of our staff.
Is there a guarantee?
Yes. You get real results during your first month or we refund you 100% of your investment plus $20. We aren't cocky... just confident!
I want maximum results in minimum time! How can I achieve this?
There are 3 necessary components you need to address if you want to achieve the maximum results you seek in the shortest amount of time possible.
First, is the 'I' Factor, or Intensity. Show up to Boot Camp and give 110% effort. Your body responds best when you push it beyond its limits just a bit and give it a reason to change. Don't just show up... show up focused! We'll provide the very best cutting-edge Boot Camp workouts possible. You bring the desire.
Second, take advantage of the accelerated fat-burning your body goes through on the days you are not attending Boot Camps by getting in some light or moderate recovery cardio. This is known as 'recovery cardio' and it is a great way to burn extra calories while allowing your body to rebuild and repair. Do it 2-3 times per week on your off days to accelerate your results.
Finally, you CANNOT get in the best shape possible without a proper lean and fit nutrition plan to support your results. Can I try a Boot Camp?
Absolutely. We hold a moderately-intense class with a core focus on Saturday at 9:30 AM that is free. Try it. Just show up, sign a waiver and make sure you bring a bottle of water and a small towel.
